ANNA, Ill. -- Homer "Soup" Campbell, 82, of Anna died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill.
He was born March 6, 1925, in Balcom, Ill., son of Homer and Zona Lingle Campbell Sr. He and Nadine Swafford were married Feb. 29, 1948, in Tupelo, Miss.
Campbell was manager at Kimmel Auto Supply 30 years. He was a member of First Christian Church and Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William Campbell of Anna; a daughter, Vicki Bible of Anna; and eight grandchildren, including Nicole Earnhart of Springfield, Ill., whom he raised.
Visitation will be from noon to service time Monday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clifford Heil officiating. Burial will be in Big Creek Cemetery, with military honors conducted by VFW Post 3455.
