FARRAR -- Hilmer J. Mahnken, 75, of Farrar died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1992, at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 14, 1916, at Farrar, the son of Gottlieb and Marie Eggers Mahnken. On April 30, 1955, he married Louise Kassell, who survives of the home.
He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar. He also was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army.
Other survivors include two sons, Daniel Mahnken of St. Louis and the Rev. Merle Mahnken of Wayne, Neb.; a daughter, Gail Mahnken of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Armin and Eilert Mahnken, both of Farrar; a sister, Delfie Mueller of Perryville; and three grandchildren.
A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.
Friends may call between 4-9 p.m. today or from 6:30 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bertram Schirmer will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
