Hildegard Rathjen

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hildegard Ida Clara Rathjen, 89, of Perryville died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1915, at Frohna, Mo., daughter of Theodore and Maria Hilpert Doering. She and Joseph Ernest Rathjen were married Sept. 10, 1939, in Altenburg, Mo. He died June 22, 1998.

Rathjen was formerly of Jacob and Gorham, Ill. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob.

Survivors include a daughter, Alice Rathjen of Perryville; a son, Ralph Rathjen of Bermuda; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, and at Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob from noon to service time.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Kettner officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery.
