JACKSON -- Hilda Mae "Gaye" Trimble, 79, of Jackson died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 18, 1919, at Leemon, daughter of Fred and Bertha Sides Abernathy. She married Dr. John Trimble, who preceded her in death.
Trimble was a towboat cook many years with Union Mechling Barge Lines of Pittsburgh. She was author of "Mighty Crooked Waters."
Survivors include a son, John Trimble of Burfordville; a daughter, Robin McBlaine of Forestville, Calif.; four sisters, Ellen Clippard of Jackson, Virginia Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Norma Thompson of Sun City, Ariz., and Betty Collinschonn of Forestville.
She was preceded in death by five brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. O. David Griffin officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. until service time.
