Hilda D. Stevens, 91, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Dutchtown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born April 21, 1923, in Wittenberg, Missouri, daughter of Ernest H. and Louise Leine Stueve. She and Leon L. Stevens were married April 24, 1943. He passed away May 21, 2002.
Hilda was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Loving survivors include four sons, James (Bonnie) Stevens, Eugene Stevens and Leon (Mary) Stevens of Cape Girardeau and Bob (Doreen) Stevens of Whitewater; a sister, Flora Kassel of Frohna, Missouri; a brother, Emil Stueve of Perryville, Missouri; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, August Stueve, and a sister, Alma Tripp.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating and the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter assisting. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
