TAMMS, Ill. -- Hilary M. Armstrong, 76, of Tamms, formerly of Cairo, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Thebes, daughter of Claude and Mable Margrave Brown. She married John Armstrong, who died in 1984.

Armstrong was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, Daughters of Isabella, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Dillow of Tamms; two sons, John Cummins of New Orleans, La., Robert Cummins of Carrier Mills, Ill.; a sister, Helen Thomas of Cherry Hill, N.J.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Jerome Fortenberry will officiate, with burial in Mound City National Cemetery.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 8:30-10 a.m. Friday.
