THEBES, Ill. -- Herschel Davis, 74, of Thebes died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born May 19, 1925, in Success, Ark., son of Hardy and Maude Stainer Davis. He and Hazel M. Tucker were married March 19, 1945.
Davis retired as foreman at Felix Lumber Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Phyllis Duffell of Thebes; two brothers, Hardy Davis Jr. of Harviell, Bob Davis of Poplar Bluff; five sisters, Gracie Tuttle and Harvie Sutt of Poplar Bluff, Josephine Worley of Cairo, Mo., Marie Henley of Plain Dealing, La., Elsie Neal of Antioch, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.
