FRIEDHEIM -- Herman R. Kester, 91, of Friedheim, died Tuesday, April 30, 1991, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 7, 1899, at Friedheim, son of George and Louisa Bangert Kester. He and the former Augusta Ahrens were married June 27, 1927. She died Oct. 16, 1981.
Kester was a farmer and had done plumbing part time, retiring in 1984. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church here.
Survivors include five sons, Leroy and Eugene Kester of St. Louis, Bobby Kester of Friedheim, Richard Kester of Gordonville, Mike Kester of Sedgewickville; four daughters, Marie Lange of Cape Girardeau, Georgia Bazzell of Jackson Route 4, Shirlene Engels of Sioux Falls, S.D., Carol Dockins of Oak Ridge Route; 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, five brothers, three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Church. The Rev. Adam Mueller will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-8 p.m. today.
