CHARLESTON -- Herman Davis, 30, of Wichita, Kan., died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1968, in Charleston, son of Georgia B. Davis and C.W. Mixon. CHARLESTON -- Herman Davis, 30, of Wichita, Kan., died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at his home.

He was born Aug. 15, 1968, in Charleston, son of Georgia B. Davis and C.W. Mixon. He and Yvette Scott were married Oct. 8, 1994.

Davis was a 1987 graduate of Charleston High School. He had lived in Kansas the past three years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Herman Davis Jr. and Mar'Te Davis of Wichita; a daughter, Latrista Moore of Charleston; his parents of Charleston; seven brothers, Wilbert McCain, Tim Davis and Demetric Atchison, all of Charleston, David Davis of Kansas City, Kerry Davis of Hazelwood, Bobby and Larry Davis of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are four sisters, Evonne Cassel, Valerie Craig and Dorris Davis, all of Charleston, Mary Wilson of Plantation, Fla.; stepfathers, Ozean Davis of Charleston and Miles Davis of Sikeston; and paternal grandmother, Martha Mixon of Bertrand.

Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at noon Saturday at St. Matthew's Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
