Herman Eugene Crader, 80, of Scott City died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 4, 1929, near Oran, Mo., the son of Lee Sylvester and Anna Elizabeth Kiel Crader. He and Pauline Geneva Petitt were married Oct. 7, 1951, at Scott City. She preceded him in death Dec. 7, 1974...

Herman Eugene Crader, 80, of Scott City died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 4, 1929, near Oran, Mo., the son of Lee Sylvester and Anna Elizabeth Kiel Crader. He and Pauline Geneva Petitt were married Oct. 7, 1951, at Scott City. She preceded him in death Dec. 7, 1974.

He married Mary Helen Lee on Feb. 28, 1976, at Scott City. She preceded him in death Oct. 3, 2008.

He worked as a mechanic for Wiethop Truck and Trailer until he retired in 1989. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. He also attended the First Assembly of God Church in Scott City.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Crader of St. Louis and David (Sue) Crader of Scott City; two granddaughters, Amy Kester and Sara Kiplinger of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Willard (Wilma) Crader of Oran; three sisters, Ruby Statler of Cape Girardeau, Lucille Hinkle of Fredericktown, Mo. and Mary (Charles) Daniels of St. Peters, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.

Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
