ADVANCE -- Herman Bucher, 68, of Advance, died Sunday, March 7, 1993, at the family home in Advance.
He was born Feb. 25, 1925, at New Hamburg, son of Cletus and Clara Gosche Bucher.
He served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
He married Lena Compas on Feb. 11, 1947.
Bucher retired six years ago from farming in the Randles-Perkins area.
He was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, the St. Joseph Sodality in Oran, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4311 in Oran and the Disabled American Veterans of Cape Girardeau County-Chapter No. 16.
Survivors include his wife; four sons Wilfred Bucher of Oran, Francis Bucher of Kelso, Denis Bucher of Jackson, Ralph Bucher of Oran; two daughters, Joyce Seyer of Jackson, Maryann Garvey of Dexter; a brother, Jerome Bucher of Randles; three sisters, Vernita Gleuck-Schott of Randles, Georgianna Kielhofner of Perkins, Rose Pobst of Oran; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. A parish rosary will by recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.
Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
