CHARLESTON -- Funeral mass for Herman Bernard Duenne, Charleston Route 2, will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Henry's Catholic Church. The Rev. James Reynolds will officiate, with burial in Texas Bend Cemetery near Charleston.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.

Duenne, 74, died Sunday, July 10, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 22, 1919, in the Texas Bend community, son of Henry and Ann Catherine Bruenderman Duenne. He and Helen Faust were married June 3, 1953.

Duenne retired from farming in 1993. He was a member of St. Henry's Church, Knights of Columbus, and VFW Post 4297. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, John Duenne of New Madrid, Joey, Alan and Albert Duenne of Charleston, Mark Duenne of Benton; four daughters, Mary Johnson, Theresa Griggs and Melissa Cockrum of Charleston, Patty Burrus of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Henry Jr. and DeSales Duenne of Charleston; five sisters, Sister Gertrude Duenne of O'Fallon, Sister Bernardine Duenne of Charleston, Catherine Showmaker and Rose Scherer of Cape Girardeau, Monica Dirnberger of New Hamburg, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two sisters.
