SCOTT CITY -- Herman Asbury Jacobs of Scott City died at Southeast Missouri Hospital Saturday, Sept. 21, 1991.
He was born Aug. 31, 1932 at Commerce, Mo., son of Leslie Herman Jacobs and Emma Irene Osborn Jacobs.
He was married Jan. 31, 1959 at Kelso. His wife, Lavana Faye Jacobs, preceded him in death.
He was employed by West Lake Quarry, Scott City, as a river boat pilot. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the VFW Post 6407, Scott City, and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513.
He is survived by a son, Joey Jacobs, of the home; daughters Donna Amick, Scott City, Darla Eifert, Festus, Connie Ressel, Kelso, Sherry Glastetter, Benton; half brothers, Jimmy Jacobs, Muskogee, Okla., Billy Jacobs, Ft. Smith, Ark., and Lester Garrett, Scott City; sisters, Hazel Vetters and Ruby Roe, both of Cape Girardeau, Shirley Frye, Fort Myers, Fla.; half sister, Betty Stone, Pana, Ill., and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and two grandchildren.
Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City Monday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Roger Leveillee officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Scott City after 2 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
A military graveside service will be conducted by the VFW Post 6407.
