PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Herman J. Amschler, 59, of Perryville died Monday, July 10, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 7, 1941, in Perryville, son of Edwin and Rosa Winschel Amschler. He and VeldaLee M. Ruch were married Aug. 13, 1967, at Silver Lake, Mo.
Amschler had been a stitcher at International Shoe Co. 30 years, and also was custodian at Perry County School District 32. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake, member of American Association of Retired Persons, and 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin Amschler of Old Appleton, Mo.; two brothers, John Parres of Bonne Terre, Mo., Jack Bishop of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Rosella Fahrner of Fairview Heights, Ill., Dr. Patricia Schremp of Perryville; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The parish wake with Knights of Columbus will be at 7. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Church. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
