Herbert Stallings

BERTRAND, Mo. -- Herbert V. Stallings, 77, of Bertrand died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at his home.

He was born Dec. 28, 1926, at Concord, Mo., son of Oscar and Marie Weakley Stallings. He and Patricia Warsing were married Oct. 1, 1972, in Union City, Tenn.

Stallings farmed on the King Farms in Charleston, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Darrell Stallings of Charleston, Stanley Fiscus of Barlow, Ky., James Fiscus of Belleville, Ill., Gregory Fiscus of Wellington, Colo.; three daughters, Sharon Bruenderman of Sikeston, Mo., Patricia Scudder of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Cynthia Hartwick of Bertrand; a brother, John Stallings of Brookport, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 11 a.m. today until time of service.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Bill Meeks officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston, with military honors by Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard.
