JACKSON -- Herbert Charles Sides, 60, of Jackson died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, at his home.
He was born June 28, 1936, at Longtown, son of Wilbert Floyd and Lydia O. Funke Sides. He and Bettye Jackman were married April 1, 1995, in Cape Girardeau.
Sides was a mechanic in Cape Girardeau, and then worked at General Motors in St. Louis from 1962 until retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and Eagles Aerie 3775.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vickie Swartstrom of Florissant; a stepson, Bobby Jackman of Bloomfield; two stepdaughters, Raeann Dockins of Painton, Nova Fallon of St. Louis; four brothers, Wilbert Sides Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Earl, Paul and Don Sides, all of Jackson; five sisters, Lucille White and Betty Boyers of Cape Girardeau, Irene Crites of Germantown, Tenn., Irma Pearce of Norris City, Ill., Dorothy Gurley of Paducah, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Paul J. Short officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
