Herbert Hadley Carr, age 86, of Auxvasse, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. He was born January 16, 1911 in Crawford County, near Bland, Missouri to A.O. and Cora E. (Sites) Carr.
On August 4, 1937 he married Olive Rowena McCarty of Oran, Missouri. She survives at their home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jane Irene Griffith and her husband, Glenn of Kingdom City, MO., and one son, Ralph Herbert Carr and his wife Charlene of Auxvasse, MO. Four granddaughters, Glenda Hines of Auxvasse, MO., Annette Lamberson of Columbia, MO., Carrie Gorday of O'Fallon, MO. and Cindy Carr of Ashland, MO and one grandson, Brad Carr of Auxvasse, MO., seven great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Clarence Carr and Mildred Brooks of Festus, MO., and Chester Carr of Oran, MO. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Freda Carr, Eula Maupin, Mayme R. Moore and Nell Stotts and one brother, Robert Carr.
Mr. Carr was a self-employed farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
