Joint funeral service for Herbert E. and Irene Thilenius of Waldport, Ore., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Carl Richardson will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Herbert, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1991, at his home. Irene, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1991, at Pacific Community Hospital in Newport, Ore.
Herbert was born July 23, 1910, in Cape Girardeau, son of Emil M. and Emma Kathryn Dittlinger Thilenius. He and Irene Sue Baker were married July 3, 1939, in Wichita, Kan. He attended Rolla School of Mines.
They moved to Washington in the early 1940s from Cape Girardeau. He was an engineer at Hanford Atomic Plant in Kennewick, Wash., retiring in 1969.
Irene was born March 1, 1913, at Egypt Mills, daughter of Gottlieb and Mary Steinhoff Baker. She had been a secretary at General Electric.
They are survived by two nieces, Mary Brown of Tucson, Ariz., Patricia Moore of Simi Valley, Calif.; two cousins, Albert Dittlinger of Cape Girardeau, and Laura Eakins of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by a brother and six sisters.
