PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Herbert E. Bock, 89, of Perryville died Monday, May 24, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Uniontown, Mo., son of Emmanuel and Pauline Stelling Bock. He and Doris Hoehn were married Aug. 17, 1946. She preceded him in death Nov. 26, 2006...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Herbert E. Bock, 89, of Perryville died Monday, May 24, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Uniontown, Mo., son of Emmanuel and Pauline Stelling Bock. He and Doris Hoehn were married Aug. 17, 1946. She preceded him in death Nov. 26, 2006.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Raymond) Phillips, Linda (Harold) Clifton and Patricia Lukefahr, all of Perryville; seven grandchildren, Richard, Dennis and Denise Phillips, Tammie Cox, Todd Clifton, Laura and Anna Lukefahr; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, J. Ben, William and Gilbert Bock; three sisters, Wilma Meier, Edna Bock and Esther Koenig.

Mr. Bock was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282. He had been a service station manager and worked in maintenance at Sabreliner Corp.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The American Legion wake will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
