CHARLESTON -- Henry W. Short, 73, of Charleston died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1926, at Neelyville, son of Robert L. and Johnnie Lee Chamberlain Short. He and Nancy Elizabeth DeLine were married in November 1975. She died May 24, 1993.
Short had been a maintenance worker at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church there. He moved to Charleston in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.Survivors include three sons, Henry Short Jr. of Kelso, Andrew and Matthew Short of the home; three daughters, Debbie DeLaCruz and Nina Chastain of Scott City, Amy Short of the home; a sister, Lucy Short of Arizona; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
