Henry Joseph Niederkorn, 74, died Friday, April 28, 1995, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Paragould, Ark., son of William Niederkorn and Emma Strack Niederkorn. He and Betty Larson were married Nov. 10, 1945. She preceded him in death. On May 29, 1993, he married Jeanette Riley in Cape Girardeau.
Niederkorn was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg. He had been employed at Margate Cement.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Niederkorn of Jackson, Robert Niederkorn of Chaffee and Timothy Niederkorn of Belleville, Ill.; a stepson, Michael Riley of Arnold; three stepdaughters, Patty Cook of Cape Girardeau, Philis Spence of Cape Girardeau and Lisa Beussink of Jackson; a brother, William Niederkorn of Mundelien, Ill.; a sister, Josephine Thompson of Benton; six grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Friends may call today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg. The Rev. Amel Shibley will officiate, with burial in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
