Henry C. Krone, 83, of Lee's Summit, Mo., died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Lee's Summit Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1922, in Independence, Kan. He and Dorothy Melton were married June 12, 1943.
Krone was a B-25 pilot in the China/Burma/India Theater during World War II.
The family moved to the Kansas City, Mo., area after the war. He retired from General Services Administration and was a volunteer 10 years at Powell Gardens. For many years he was Jackson County's largest egg producer.
Krone was a member of Lee's Summit United Methodist Church, former officer in Jackson County Farm Bureau and was a Jackson County 4-H leader.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Caroline Tilghman of Cape Girardeau, Susan Wolfe of Rochester, Minn., Barbara Jolley of Kansas City; a son, Mark Krone of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service was held March 10 at Lee's Summit United Methodist Church.
D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel in Kansas City was in charge of arrangements.
