CRUMP -- Henry Jones, 86, of Crump died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1910, in the Hickory Grove community, son of Paul and Effie Ervin Jones.
He married Lucille "Sally" Andrews Oct. 28, 1933. She died Nov. 25, 1990.
He attended the former Whitewater school in Whitewater, and farmed near Crump his entire life. He was also a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1961. He attended the Bethlehem General Baptist Church, and was an avid fisherman and painter.
He is survived by one brother, Glenn Jones, and one stepbrother, Early Proffer, both of Crump.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother and a grand nephew.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmie Fulbright and the Rev. Joe Allen officiating. Burial will be in Proffer Cemetery in Crump.
