SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Henry Delbert Hampton, 72, of St. Louis, formerly of Scott City, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 23, 1928, at Allenville, Mo., son of Henry and Lennie Jones Hampton. He married Nancy Schiwitz.
Hampton retired from McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of St. Louis Lutheran Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Timothy Hampton of St. Louis; a daughter, Deborah Tylka of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Valerie Dunger of Scott City, Vera Overbeck of St. Charles, Mo., Olivia Kidd of Lebanon, Ill., Marion Sutherland of Farmington, Mo., Georgia McDowell of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Funeral was held March 28 at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel in St. Charles. Burial was in St. Charles Memorial Gardens, with full military rites conducted by Missouri Honor Guard.
