JACKSON -- Henry H. Rone, 98, of Jackson, died Sunday, March 14, 1993, at the Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.
He was born Feb. 24, 1895, at Hickman, Ky., son of John and Soula Rone.
He was married to Elnora Jones on Sept. 29, 1916, at New Madrid. She died in December 1961.
Rone rafted and towed logs for 43 years; he worked as chief engineer on a tow boat for seven years. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Kennett where he served as deacon.
Survivors include two daughters, Millie Meyer of Cape Girardeau, Lila Hill of Memphis, Tenn.; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Marshall officiating.
Burial will be in Memphis Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.
