WYATT, Mo. -- Henry Edward Gunter, 76, of Florissant, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home in St. Louis. He was born Nov. 5, 1924, at Birds Point, Mo., son of Harvey E. and Nancy J. Stewart Gunter. He and Louise Knupp were married April 3, 1949...

WYATT, Mo. -- Henry Edward Gunter, 76, of Florissant, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home in St. Louis.

He was born Nov. 5, 1924, at Birds Point, Mo., son of Harvey E. and Nancy J. Stewart Gunter. He and Louise Knupp were married April 3, 1949.

Gunter had lived in Florissant since 1964, and was formerly of Wyatt. He was generator specialist with the U.S. Army Troop Command, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wyatt, and Triple Masonic Lodge 835 in Granite City, Ill.

He served in the U.S. Army three years during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Gunter of Florissant, Alan Gunter of Webster, Texas; a sister, Martha Rolan of East Prairie, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
