Henry M. Davis, age 77, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Wyatt, Missouri, son of Allen John and Zora Lee Davis. He and Mary Pauline "Polly" Finney were married April 2, 1961. She passed away August 20, 2016.

Henry attended Fruitland Community Church. He worked for Missouri Dry Dock for 40 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing and watching the birds he so faithfully fed.

Loving survivors include three sons, Sam (Stephanie) Davis of Paducah, Kentucky, Scott (Lesa) Davis of Salem, Missouri, and Michael Davis of Potosi, Missouri; a daughter, Marilyn Wages of Jackson; three sisters, Mattie Boyles, Allouise (Jerry) Douyard and Glenda (Ron) Woodard; three brothers, Johnny (Mary) Davis, Robert (Diana) Davis and Roy (Linda) Davis; grandchildren, Justin (Jamie) Wages, Bradley (Gillian) Davis, Chris (Eryn) Davis, Jessica Wages (Lance Dannenmueller), Tyler (Elizabeth) Davis, Trenton (Amanda) Davis, Jared Wages, Keshia (Scott) Hitchings, Bethany (Garrett) Compton, Nicole (Randy) Bryson Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Julianna, Tayton, Johnathon, Tristan, Logan, Scarlett, Raegan, Joshua, Parker, Jacob and Boston; and many friends and extended family.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bradley Davis officiating.

Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau with military honors.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Fruitland Community Church.
