SIKESTON, Mo. -- Henry F. Cooper, 85, of Sikeston died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center.
He was born March 11, 1922, in Pontotoc, Miss., son of Oscar William and Mattie Benjamin Cooper. He married Elvada Winders, who preceded him in death. He and Maggie Dunnegan were married Oct. 12, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. She died Sept. 17, 1995.
Cooper was a self-employed carpenter and millwright, and had also worked for Ray Clinton Construction. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, 32nd Degree Mason and member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Smith of Sikeston; a sister, Grace Sartin of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
