DEXTER -- Henry Wayne Channell, 61, of Dexter died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 30, 1935, at Selmer, Tenn., son of Johnson J. and Mamie Emmons Channell. He and Helen Julian were married Sept. 30, 1967, at Kennett.
Channell was retired area manager for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion in Malden and a member of the Baptist Church in Hayti.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mike Channell of Dudley and David and Chris Channell, both of Dexter; and five sisters, Faye Nunnery Cato of Caruthersville, Frances Homer of Palm Springs, Calif., Marie Hodge of Fullerton, Calif., Virginia Huckaba of Campbell, and Margie Woods of Caruthersville.
Visitation was Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Wilson will officiate with burial to be at Dexter Cemetery.
