DEXTER -- Henry Bennett, 87, of Dexter, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at Vintage Villa Nursing Center in Dexter.
He was born May 7, 1911, near Bloomfield, son of J.W. Bennett and Nezzie Hutchison Bennett.
He and Norma Stroup were married June 16, 1936, at Bloomfield.
He was a member of Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, a member of the Rotary club and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow and earned 34 years of perfect attendance in the club. He owned Bennett Appliance.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. Thomas Bennett of Bowling Green, Ohio; two brothers, Harry Bennett of Dexter and Howard Bennett of St. Louis; three sisters, Mary Jackson of St. Louis, Lena Seim of Washington and Betty Harper of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, a sister and his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Phil Warren and Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
