HELEN WILKENS

JACKSON -- Helen M. Wilkens, 87, of Jackson died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 18, 1913, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Charles and Jeffie Slack Short. She and Elmer G. Wilkens were married May 8, 1937, at Benton.

She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church at Jackson.

Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Bill Wilkens of Jackson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
