TULSA, Okla. — Helen Louise Schlegel West, daughter of Elmer and Helen M. Schlegel, was born Jan. 2, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. She joined her loving family in Heaven on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, in Tulsa.

She attended Trinity Lutheran School and Church in Cape Girardeau, and graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1957.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas West Jr. of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Robert (Sherry) West of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a sister, Brenda (Jerry) Stauber of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas West; and two sons, Michael West of Tulsa and William West of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Her wishes were to be cremated, with no services.
