SIKESTON -- Helen Vera White, 74, of Montross, Va., died Thursday, April 20, 1995.
She was born April 26, 1921, at Sikeston, daughter of Col. Harry E. and Mary Jane Thomas Dudley. She and Leslie Turner White were married in 1947. He preceded her in death.
White attended Southeast Missouri State University, and graduated from the University of Southern California at Los Angeles.
She was dean of women at El Centro Junior College, where she coached tennis and taught physical education. She later taught physical education at Laguna Beach. At Washington and Lee High School in Montross she taught various subjects, chaired the social studies department, and sponsored the junior class many years.
Active in the Westmoreland Cattle Association and Virginia Angus Association, she had served on the Westmoreland Board of Supervisors since January 1988 and had been vice chairman since 1991.
Survivors include a son, Leslie White Jr. of Montross; a daughter, Mary Holcomb of Battle Ground, Wash.; a brother, William Dudley of Williamston, Mass., and two grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sikeston City Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Buck officiating.
