LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Helen May Stanley, 82, of Leopold passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Saint Louis, daughter of Floyd and Virginia James Johnson.
Helen enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, gardening, crocheting, cooking and was known to make the best biscuits and gravy. She enjoyed her family and friends, but enjoyed being a mother and grandmother most of all. Helen was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her sons, Charles (Debbie) Stanley of De Soto, Missouri, and Ronald (Rob'n) Stanley of House Springs, Missouri; daughters, Carol (David) Hutson of St. Louis, Gerry (late Keith) Wilson of Marble Hill, Missouri, Julie (Robbie Coomer) Stoverink of Whitewater and Shiela (Sean) Nenninger-James of Leopold; sister, Peggy (Ron) Beauford of Puxico, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; a daughter, Pamela Maher; a brother Floyd Johnson; and two sons-in-law, Keith Wilson and Tim Nenninger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Interment will take place in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the Bollinger County Food Pantry.
