ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Helen Smith of Springfield, Ill., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Sidney Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Smith, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born in Flora, Ill., daughter of William and Minnie Smith Berry. She and Harold S. Smith were married Jan. 1, 1931. He died July 9, 1983.
Smith was formerly of Anna and a member of the United Methodist Church. She was organist many years, and was involved in many of the church's organizations. She taught piano many years, and was a Red Cross volunteer.
She had lived at the Illinois Presbyterian Home in Springfield since 1997.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Pisoni of Shalimar, Fla., Jean Wilkins of Springfield, Susan Schild of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Stephen Smith of Chesterfield, Mo.; a sister, Dorothy Luse of Edgar, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
