Helen B. Simpson, 95, of Perryville, Mo., died March 19, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Walter George and Eva Eagle Leher. She and James Paul Simpson were married Aug. 19, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. He died May 19, 1999.

Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker and teacher's aide at St. Boniface Catholic School. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, past president of the Mother's Club (PTA) and Diocesan Catholic Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, James Paul Simpson Jr.; a granddaughter, Paula Jo Simpson; a great-grandson, Ryan A. Behrle; and brother and sister-in-law Walter and Willa Mae "Billie" Leher.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Linda Simpson of Ruskin, Fla., and Thomas J. Simpson and fiancee Elizabeth Pappas of Perryville; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara S. and Melvin J. Brewer Jr. of Perryville; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Simpson will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a parish wake at 6:30 p.m., and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

She will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Charles Prost officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials to St. Vincent Endowment Fund, Birthright, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ryan A. Behrle Scholarship Fund are preferred.
