PUXICO -- Funeral for Helen L. Siler of Puxico will be held at 10 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The Rev. Ray Placher will officiate, with burial in Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico.
Siler, 87, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at Puxico Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 10, 1911, in Newberry, Ind., daughter of Charles Q. and Ethel Isenogle Moore. She and William Oscar Siler were married Feb. 14, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio. He died Feb. 9, 1967.
Siler had lived in Puxico since 1933, and retired as a cook at Howard Johnson's Restaurant in St. Roberts. She was a member of Duck Creek Missionary Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 7822.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Findley of Puxico, Meredith Mackney of Crocker; two sons, Douglas Siler of Puxico, Chuck Siler of Fisk; a sister, Catherine Duffey of Bloomington, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and three grandchildren.
