Helen Shores

Helen May Shores, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. She was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Carter County, Mo., daughter of the late William Joseph and Virginia Ann Felker Snider. On Sept. 7, 1940, and Andrew Keith Shores Jr. were married in St. Louis. Helen May Shores, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Carter County, Mo., daughter of the late William Joseph and Virginia Ann Felker Snider. On Sept. 7, 1940, and Andrew Keith Shores Jr. were married in St. Louis. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 2000.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Sycamore Hills, Mo.

Survivors include a son, Andrew K. Shores III of Germantown, Tenn.; two daughters, Nancy Buck of Weston, Conn., and Mary McGrievy of St. Charles, Ill; two sisters, Bonnie Schindler of Wappapello, Mo., and Dormilee Booker of Jefferson City, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and eight sisters.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
