Helen L. Ourth, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 25, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 20, 1914, at Benton, daughter of Frank W. and Ida Bollinger Diebold. She and Leo L. Ourth were married Oct. 5, 1940 at Benton. He died Nov. 2, 1961.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111 Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council 11205 Ladies Auxiliary.

She worked at St. Francis Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of SEMO Life Savers.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Ourth of Cape Girardeau and Herbert Ourth of Jackson; three daughters, Kathleen Keesee and Frances Rosenquist, both of Cape Girardeau, Janet Ivy of Eddyville, Ky.; a brother, Herman E. Diebold of Kelso; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 7 and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Randolph Tochtrop will officiate, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
