MINER -- Helen Oakes, 68, of Miner died Friday, May 17, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston.
She was born June 20, 1927, in Madison County, Ala., daughter of Albert and Eddie Lee Collins.
She married William Daniel Oakes Jan. 31, 1942, at Bassett, Ark. He died March 8, 1989.
She was a member of the First United Pentecost Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Oakes of Morley and Stephen Oakes of Miner; seven daughters, Marva Caudell and Lisa Watters, both of Rockford, Ill., Charlotte Vincent of Beloit, Wis., Barbara Haley and Janice Booth, both of Sikeston, Debra Blagg of Benton and Cynthia Probst of Paducah, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four brothers and 12 sisters.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Pentecost Church.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
The Rev. David Maze will officiate, with burial in the Blodgett Cemetery.
