It has pleased our Heavenly Father to call to life eternal Helen Louise (Koschmann) Meier from the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the age of 87.
She was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Milwaukee to Dora (Roehl) and Martin Koschmann.
Helen was a Lutheran school teacher, having taught in Adair, Oklahoma; Hickory, North Carolina; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Milwaukee.
Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frederick Meier; three sons, the Rev. Dr. Peter (Kathy) Meier of Minnesota, Philip (Linda) Meier of Michigan and John (Dr. Svetlana) Meier of Idaho; and a daughter, Christine (the Rev. Douglas) Breite of Cape Girardeau. She was grandmother of David (Susan) Meier, Jennifer (Matt) Smith, Daniel (Jessica) Meier, Nicholas Meier, Leah (Jason) Gedvilas, William Meier, Emily Meier, Sam and Abby Breite, Phillip Meier, Mark Meier and Julianne Meier and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Ada Schoessow and Gertrude (Samuel) Staples, and two brothers, Norbert Koschmann and Dr. Edgar Koschmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Mark Meier; and a sister, Norma Lindberg.
A memorial service will be held in Milwaukee.
The family requests memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
