Helen Rose Macke, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born June 8, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lonzo and Vernettien Phillips Gibson. She and Rudolph Macke were married Aug. 19, 1933, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1978...

Helen Rose Macke, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born June 8, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lonzo and Vernettien Phillips Gibson. She and Rudolph Macke were married Aug. 19, 1933, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1978.

Mrs. Macke was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. During World War II she worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Macke of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Darla Macke of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, David, Stacy, Cody and Tyler Macke, Debbie Chapman and husband Larry, Pam Recker, Dan Recker, Sabrina Johnston and husband Steve, Missy Lamar and husband Gene, Mike Radloff and wife Shari.

Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Nick and Emily Chapman, Ashton and Josh Lamar, Jacob Pulliam, Whitney and Max Radloff; stepgrandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Doza, Vicki and Dale Lamar; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, Mary Ann, Mick, and Joy Radloff; and daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Dan Recker; four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Anselm Williams officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

The family requests memorial contributions to Grace United Methodist Church or American Heart Association.
