Helen Melba Hargraves, 78, Cape Girardeau Nursing Center, died there Monday, Aug. 17, 1992.
She was born March 26, 1914, at Neelys Landing, daughter of Jack and Ethel McClard Cliffton. She married Samuel Hargraves May 22, 1929, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death.
Hargens owned and operated Hargens Boarding Home here 12 years. She was a member of Perkins Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Hargraves of Jackson, Jack Hargraves of Chaffee; three daughters, Beverly Bond of Chaffee, Joyce Nesbit of St. Charles, Ruth Stephens of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Irene Brasher and Earlene Dillingham of Cape Girardeau; 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild and great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Francis officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
