Helen Keegan, 83, of Kingsport, Tenn. passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Springfield, Mo., and resided in Charleston for most of her life. She moved to Kingsport in 2005.
Mrs. Keegan worked as a bookkeeper for many years, and later as a Head Start teacher for several years.
She attended First Baptist Church in Kingsport.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Freeman and husband, Jimmie, of Kingsport; a son, James Edward DeMann, Jr. of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Cortland Freeman and wife, Cherry, and Melissa DeMann; and two great-grandchildren, Cortney Freeman and Chynna Freeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nora Light Green; and a sister, Dorothy Sebright.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes in Kingsport with Minister Charles Huff officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
