Helen Jackson

ZALMA, Mo. -- Helen Ellena Jackson, 83, of Zalma passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 15, 1933, at Kinder, Missouri, the daughter of Ben and Bertha Dowler Stroup.

Helen had been the owner/operator of The Wagon Wheel restaurant in Advance, Missouri, for 16 years. She also had worked for New Hope in Puxico, Missouri, as an in-home health-care provider. She enjoyed working in her yard. She was a very caring and outgoing person.

Helen and Dale Lee Jackson were united in marriage Jan. 17, 2013, at Corning, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2015.

Survivors include a son, Anthony Dale Jackson of Zalma; three daughters, Deborah (Ray) Doan of Bernie, Missouri, Sue Cobb of Zalma and Tonya (Brian) Winchester of Advance; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; three sisters; and a grandson.

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Epps officiating. Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery near Zalma.
