CHARLESTON -- Helen Virginia Haas, 77, of Charleston died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Oct. 28, 1922, in the Dogwood Community near East Prairie, daughter of Marshall and Hattie Watson Blackman. She and Cletus Haas were married April 21, 1945.
Haas was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. She had been employed at Brown Shoe Co. at Charleston and Burkhart's at Cairo, Ill., until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Mike Haas of Cape Girardeau and John Haas of Charleston; two daughters, Sally Poyner of Elkhart, Ind., and Nancy Chandler of Charleston; a brother, Windy Blackman of Sikeston; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home at Charleston. Prayer service will be held at 7.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church at Charleston, with the Rev. Gerald Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
