ORAN, Mo. -- Helen Marie Furlong, 76, of Oran died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 28, 1927, at Canalou, Mo., daughter of Joe and Alma Ploense Schac-herbauer. She first married Billy Sadler, who preceded her in death. She and Wayne Furlong were married Jan. 8, 1968. He died March 4, 1981.
Furlong had been a machine operator at Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau, and retired as a janitor from Oran Grade School.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen and Gary Sadler of Morley, Mo., Larry Sadler of Oran; two daughters, Barbara Carpenter of Blodgett, Mo., Brenda James of Miner, Mo.; two brothers, Harry Schacherbauer of Tucson, Ariz., Herman Schacherbauer of Dexter, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a sister, and two brothers.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. The Rev. Don Russell will officiate. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery at Morley.
