SCOTT CITY -- Helen Marie Castleman, 80, of Scott City died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1917, at Fornfelt, daughter of Jesse and Mary Poorman Gross. She and Thomas E. Castleman were married May 8, 1938, at Illmo. He died Jan. 12, 1992.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Castleman of Fairfax, Va., Edward Castleman of Dupo, Ill., Bruce Castleman of Indianapolis, Ind., Mark Castleman of Scott City; a daughter, Neisha Schwartz of Thebes, Ill.; two brothers, Freddie Gross of Albuquerque, N.M., A.V. Gross of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Venita Beck of Belleville, Ill., Peggy Hitt of Kelso; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, sister, and great-grandson.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Revs. William Dickey and Jim Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
