JACKSON -- Helen Bruce, 74, of Jackson died Friday, May 9, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 14, 1922, at Tilsit, daughter of Louis and Hulda Werner Aufdenberg. She and Irwin Bruce were married Jan. 15, 1949. Bruce had worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson. JACKSON -- Helen Bruce, 74, of Jackson died Friday, May 9, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 14, 1922, at Tilsit, daughter of Louis and Hulda Werner Aufdenberg. She and Irwin Bruce were married Jan. 15, 1949.

Bruce had worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Tilsit.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, David Bruce of Shawneetown, Gary and Rodney Bruce of Jackson; two brothers, Victor and Walter Aufdenberg of Jackson; and four grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
