JACKSON -- Helen Brown, 80, of Jackson, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994, at her home.
She was born Oct. 19, 1913, at Marble Hill, daughter of Fred and Julia Yount Filer. She and Oval J. Brown were married Feb. 12, 1932. He died Nov. 26, 1976.
Brown graduated from Will Mayfield College at Marble Hill. She taught in rural schools in Bollinger County. She later was an inspector at International Shoe Co. in Jackson 18 years, retiring in 1954.
She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and Belle Bennett Circle. She was also a member of Jackson Chapter 91 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
